this is too easy to make you can use it in place of a packet cake mix if you are in a hurry.
here goes....
Easy Chocolate cake

1 cup S.R. flour (250 ml cup) preheat oven to 180 degrees 
1 cup sugar( same cup)
4 tablespoons cocoa
mix all together ( or do several lots and place in plastic bag,in airtight container for later... I do!)
when later happens you ...... mix together....
2 beaten eggs
half a cup of milk
125 gr melted butter ( I melt it in the micro wave oven 30 seconds at a time, keep your eye on it so it won't get too hot)
combine the above adding the melted butter last then pour the lot into your dry ingredients,
mix well then place in well greased tin either round or square bake for 30-40 minutes, (to find out if it's done get a toothpick or skewer and stick into the cake...if it comes out clean it;s cooked. and that goes for any cake) dust with icing sugar or your favourite topping....eat hearty!
If you don't want chocolate just leave the cocoa out,add a teaspoon vanilla and  that makes it a vanilla cake.
