Who will be saved? I have heard many different arguments on this so let's look at a couple of verses


2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
I think this verse is pretty clear

Next verse
Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

This verse seems to indicate that only certain peple will be saved but this view contradicts scripture remember know prophecy is of any private interpretation

1Ti 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 

Now these verse say that God wants all men to be saved. So which is it. Does he want everyone or only the "elect" Let's look at one more verse

Jhn 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me. 

Yes it is true that no man cometh to Jesus except the Father draw him but God did that drawing when Christ died on the cross

If God had sent his Son into the world so that only certain "elect" people could be saved, then this passage would not be true because Jesus would have been sent to condemn the whole world except the "elect." This passage tells us otherwise.

You state that 2 Peter 1:20 tells that no prophecy of scripture is of our own interpretation ( or origin). Is this not what you just did?

Peter was telling us that what he was preaching and had taught was not of himself, but what he had witnessed, the fulfilling of prophecy of the messiah.
And that no prophecy has ever came from man but from God.

But you should read the next verse.


I Timothy 2:3 what is good and acceptable is that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all Godliness and reverence. and yes God does what all men to be saved, (all is in all kinds,from all nations, not just for the Jews). Salvation was for the Jews first. They rejected Him. (1Peter 1:9-10 for starters).

2 Peter 3:9... Who was Peter writing to? What promise was he speaking of? What is this day of the Lord he speaks of? answer these things first before you try and cut and paste scripture to your own interpretation.(remember the verse you quoted earlier).

John 12:32 yes He has drawn all men unto Himself, salvation is no longer just for the Jews, but all men.


Scripture always interprets scripture. It is not what we believe, but what scripture teaches as a whole. Anyone can pluck out verses, people do it all the time. The questions is are you as with myself, are we going to allow scripture to dictate what we believe or are we going to dictate what scripture teaches. if it is there, will be believe it, even if it contradicts our own interpretation?

This is a good Question. And I would like to say these questions especially can happen when only a few verses are taken out of the Bible. New Religions have been born this way. And Skeptics walk by this route of the few Scripture study look in contrast.

The Bible the Word of God is not to be in part but in full so that we may have full understanding. All the stated of the scriptures are true what the Lord has said. And it sounds confusing perhaps but let us reason in the being that God is. The Greatest commandments are to Love God with all your heart soul mind and spirit and the second is to Love one another just as you love your Self. Since these are the greatest commandments that sum up the commandants. We learn by this that God is a God of Love. He is a loving God true. But understand he that loves is not evil nor walks in evil nor supports it in any way.

Being that he is a loving God he does desire that all should be saved. Truly God would want this to be. But the reality is this is not what it will be. God desires to save all but he did not say he was going to promise to save all.

Sin has price Romans six verse twenty three. For the wages of sin is death. But now look what it says in this verse. But the gift of life is eternal salvation through Christ Jesus.
Take a look now at Romans three verse twenty three. For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. But now reads in this very same scripture. But we are justified freely in redemption of the Lord Christ Jesus.

People see sin as an oops I goofed. God sees sin as much greater than this. Even as much his son died for sins. Our sins. But it was the love of God that had God to do this. Romans five verse 8 God shows his love that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

He did not for some but for all from the least to the greatest of all. He Jesus that did not sin took his life for us that death he would conquer and win.

It is clear then in John fourteen verse six that Jesus is the way the Truth and the Life and that no one goes to the Father except by him. You will see it written over and over again. Jesus is the only named mentioned that every one whom died on the cross is the way to heaven. All are going to heaven because God desires it? No. But sins that are not forgiven they whom did not accept Jesus and turn from their sins. Jesus paid the price for us. If you don’t ask him then we pay the price. And that is our sins which is death. But God desires that you not perish. Not any one of you. This offer to is to all whom want to accept Jesus for what he did in his love. See the movie passion of The Christ to see more in detail what Jesus did to save us from hell and into heaven to be with him. This is love story. How much God loves us. Will we accept the love or reject it? Accept this love of Jesus this is eternal life. Reject the love and of Jesus this is death. The Lord reaches out to you saying accept my only son. Believe in Him. Because God is love desiring that you will receive everlasting life. Now it is up to you to decide. Jesus or not?

IMO this is a very true statement because if all were to be saved then why would it be that Hell exists?
Lucifer is such an example.. Why would he deserve to be saved and in heaven when he put himself above God? That is why hell came to be.
